DP-03SD Foot Switch?

Does anyone know if you can rig up a different foot switch (using a 2.5mm adaptor plug perhaps?) to work on the DP-03SD rather than have to pay over $50 for the Tascam RC-3F foot switch? I already have a Korg PS-1 passive foot switch that worked fine on my DP-008EX and all I want to use it for is punch in and out recordings. I don't want the Tascam foot controller with the three switches getting in the way (nor do I want to spend $50 more dollars for it). Thanks ahead of time for any info on this. First time poster. Yes I have the foot switch and it is kind of awkward to use but needed it for foot control. As you must know you can program it to do whatever you want. Programed mine to start record on the wide center switch and play on the right side with stop being on the left. Hopefully Tascam with come out with a decent remote setup as if you have a wide foot it is difficult to use but can get used to it.......
