Heres what im hearing in the argument..

All laws are man made.
No morals are man made
//No morals are laws

?
If thats not correct, its probably because much time was spent employing Ad Hominem.

And if you dont know what that means, you shouldn't be talking about logic.

Laws are man made idiot..........

Morals should be formed from within........NOT determined by a man made law...........I dont look @ a law and say "If you dont follow this law, you are immoral"....................Thats the argument that Im interpreting from you all.......A thief is a thief.....stealin is wrong......this that and the third........... blah............It's only wrong to you cause you are in a position to afford to do otherwise and somebody told you it was wrong.............Meaning you never been there....But it's funny how I bring up the Katrina situation, and I get a plethora of responses that conviently make that example fit for your argument, when before a "Thief is a thief" :rolleyes: .......But like I said, my point has been proven in some of you all's own words and now it's wack ass insults.............People wanna accuse me of stealing when I never said I stole.....LMAO......Just face it, you logic is wack........I proved my point, but instead of being adults, you wanna get childish and throw ineffective insults............Lemmings that follow the law........

What would you do if they told you it was illegal to get on the internet tommorrow, what would you all do????? How would you look @ somebody who didnt follow that law?????

I'm with ya buddy, but give it up. You can't win an argument with a retard, and that's all the guy has proven himself to be.

I say we just ignore him.

I think before you talk you should really look at what I wrote.
I said All laws are man made, did i not?

What if i told you that what I wrote was logically valid(form AEE-2, Camestres)?

Which validates YOUR argument. I'm simply trying to get down to the actual argument here and weeding out all of the useless insults everyone seems to love using.

What we have here is a genuine dispute on what exactly qualifies as moral.

If your christian or any organized religion, you would prob. quote all of the "thou shalts" or their equivilants.

So where do morals come from? God? Us? Government? Society?

All Laws are man made
All morals are man made
//All morals are laws?
or
//No morals are laws?

But...both of these syllogisms are invalid.

If morals are made with in, wouldnt that supose that Laws are from the people who have morals?
Morals make Laws, Laws are not made from morals?

The flaw here is that If the Law was made from morals, it is by design, moral. So, not following the Law...is indeed immoral.

Please dont respond with some insult...lets try to have a peacefull argument.

Aight then cool, my bad.......Everybody seems to hop on tha bandwagon cause it's cool, but if you take your argument to an adult level, so will I..........

You do have somewhat a point in my eyes.........But my point to these cats is that people follow a man made law as if that is the determining factor on how they feel.........They are placing a law above they own beliefs, if they have any outside of the law in the first place........Someone brought up how it's how universally no culture condones murder.........It's illegal to kill a person, but its not illegal to apply the death penalty in ..........Understand???? The law is violating "morals" then........So with those blatant contridictions, why would you put a law over what you witness in your life???.........I know people who often are on the other side of the law........But the law and law makers amd lemming law followers often only know the law, not the whos, the whys behind a law that is broken......A..They place themselves in God like positions when in fact they are only human beings like you and I......

A law maker cannot and does not reflect everybody's "morals" or has "everybodys" best interest at heart, so you infact have to live by your own code and standard.....I'm not sayin disobey the law.....Respect it, but dont embody the law AS your morals.......If a judge finds you guilty, that doesnt mean you are guilty........thats just the LAW........

Everybody with a sound functioning mind and body in my opinon has morals, that is a motivational factor, how can you "lack" morals, especailly if you are committing a crime in some cases....You have to know that it's wrong to some extent, but the it's wrong in the eyes of the law, you might have to cross that line to establish a better foundation for yourself..........Which is right to you..........See what I'm sayin now........the law is more or less a standard of operation in society........Morals come from with it.....the individual.........

usdn rep said:
But how do you "lack" morals......You still havent proved that point........Stealing is wrong to you..........But to another person it might not be wrong........Neither person "lacks" morals.............

I have never used the term "lack" morals. Yes, different people arrive at their morals differently, that's what I've been saying. The point is that stealing is a moral issue, and you keep saying it isn't.

Interesting....

So, when you steal, you are always breaking the law.
But, you are not always being immoral because different people have different views on morals.

Let me add some fuel here, killing is by most people, immoral. But, if you said that to maybe a soldier defending his life, is it still immoral?

I think you brought this point up earlier with the Katrina event and the people stealing food to support their families. "How can survival be immoral?"

We have hit upon a deep philisophical question here, What are morals?
I think you are correct that most people simply take the Law as being Moral. And that morals should come with in. But a lot of people are conditioned by society to integrate the societal morals as their own and therefore have the Law to back them up when anything they deem unlawful is also immoral.

But, back to my point. I don't think there is a right or wrong here on what is immoral and what isnt. One persons morals is different from another persons morals, the vast majority of people believe that stealing is immoral, thus it is defined as such.

Dude, you have the humor of a 15 year old, along with the reasoning of a 12 year old. Nobody is jumping on "the bandwagon" because its cool. I guarantee if people on this forum were arguing face to face with you rather then exchanging messages, you'd be proven wrong very quickly, I'd give it a minute before you looked like a complete douchebag.

Touché to whoever said its not worth arguing with this guy, it's like talking to a wall.

The childish way of sayin you cant debate my logic..............You twisted my words.........That didnt work for you.....You debated my logic head on proved my point........IN YOUR OWN WORDS........You lost buddy.........

uhhhh....you won the arguement? Are we reading the same thread?

I'm still waiting for you to provide me with someone who had to steal cubase for their SURVIVAL....they would die without it....I've asked it several times, you can't answer.

I also pointed out that if everyone stole Cubase, it would cease to exist. You agreed with that. If you think it's cool for one person to do it, then it must be cool for everyone to do it as well. So you ran yourself in circles there man.

The thing is, you don't think we can see what you are saying or where you are coming from. We see it. But we are trying to get you to rise above yourself, or the person who you excuse stealing it, and see things on the larger scale of social ills and what is best for society. You don't seem to be able to do that. You can bring in the wars, the punishments we dole out for crimes, but all your saying is "I see something I don't agree with. Since i don't agree with law "x", instead of working to change it I will break law "y" (or condone it) and somehow it all works out in the end." It doesn't. If we all indiscriminately broke laws we don't feel like following, society degenerates into chaos. If you don't like things...work to change them. Don't make it an excuse for people to steal.

Newbs taking over,lol

I don't know why everyone is all bent out of shape about what you're saying as I didn't bother to read all past 30 or so pages, but I'm with your reasoning here for the most part.

What I have issue with is that stealing software isn't really about survival. Not having some piece of gear isn't the same as not having food or water. You don't need it for survival.

Dude........do you talk to yourself a lot? You have too.......as that is probably the only conversation you get during the day because I'm sure that most people walk away from you just as soon as they see that you are a major dumbass.........shut up! Go find someone who cares if you live or die if you can and try your horse-shit reasoning on them.....bet they leave you in the dust as well!!!
