The republican establishment would much rather lose with one of their own than support one of theirs who is not.
They would want Hillary over Trump because Hillary is Wall Street's gal. Trump made his money in Real Estate, not Wall Street. As President she will make it easy for the GOP congressional candidates in 2018.
A President Trump won't follow the GOP masters. Which is why they will not support him.. Come back here in one year and see if I'm wrong.
If Biden comes in...it will reset the whole thing on both sides...thought I don't see him walking away with it either.
Jeb Bush is old-school GOP...one of the last....and there's not as many old-school Reps wanting to back him (which is clear by his dismal showing so far).
The rest are not old-school Reps...but one or two of them will need to break away from the pack.
Trump...is an oddity, and that's what makes him interesting and amusing...but IMO, not something people will want to buy into for 4 years.
Politics require more than a bullish attitude. You can push somethings with shear power, but that doesn't really get things done in a big, global, somewhat fair-to-all way. As long is it "us against them"...we are fucked in this country, and our outside enemies and rivals are getting the benefit of our stupidity and political stubbornness.

The common person has figured out the scam.
in 2012 the money guys wanted Romney, but had to fuel all the conservatives with enough $$$ to get their message out in order to split the vote. Romney gets 30% and Santorum, Herman Cane, Newt,etc all get 7%. So Romney wins.
The 2016 plan was the same . They want Jeb So they fund a dozen others, but Trump fucked up the works. He is self funded. They can't turn his mic off. OH SHIT!

I hope Trump gets the GOP nomination. It would be refreshing to have a candidate, of either party, who isn't bought and paid for. It's not going to happen on the democrat side...they are pandering to the unions and the nanny state crowd. They all stand for big intrusive government.
That vision isn't panning out. The only chance at improvement is going to come from a self funded conservative who is not afraid to speak candidly. Trump is the first one we've had who is affiliated with one of the 2 major parties (translate that into: has a chance at winning). Trump may not be the guy to do it but he has shown that you can speak freely, with disregard for political correctness, and get overwhelming support from the people.
That, in itself, is a game changer IMO.
