Ok, this sounds like a good idea, but I need you guys to lemme know if it'll work..... We are recording our band's demo now and here's what I plan to do.... 4 tracks of drums (Fostex 380s with Dolby S Cassette )- 2 tracks overhead mics, one track snare, last track kick) all mixed down to 2 tracks on the Fostex R8(dolby nr 1/4" reel to reel) then the rest of the intrumentation will be done on the Fostex R8. I want to do this because it'll give me more flexability in the drum mix for the finally stereo mix + the 4 cassette tracks combined will be wider than those of the R8's 2 stereo tracks( right?) Anyway if this will work, will I have any problems going from one machine with dolby s to another with dolby nr? I know the final demo will only have dolby nr but I'm fine with that. I just need to know if I'll have any problems later down the line.... Thanks
p.s..........OR I could use the Sansui MR-6 (6 track cassette with dolby nr) for drums then mix them to the R8. This way I'm doing dolby nr to dolby nr and maybe no problems (?)
