Mine came with the firewire card. I would not recomend it for serious recording via the firewire card though. Totally do-able if you use tracktion (the mackie redording software) and are not interested in studio quaility recording. But if you use a cpu hogging program like Sonar (which gives a better end result than traction, despite being difficult to use by comparison)you better have a very up to date computer or you will not get good results. Seriously disturbing latency problems with high end recording software like Sonar Producer edition. "

but if somebody who is skint downloads software and just messes around with it for his own hobbiest use ....is he stealing.

you see there is no deprivation of money in this case...and the manufacturer doesnt have to produce another unit....

now if you are rich and would have bought that product but chose to download instead...well that is stealing. The money that should be in the software producers bank account is in the rich guys account.

and to all the kneejerckers out there as time goes on the definition of whats right and wrong is constantly evolving with society and digital technology has muddied the waters. The old laws and the thoughts that brought them to bear do not apply as easily today as they use to when life was a lot more straightforward.

Just take the concept of land ownership....is it fair that because you are born at a later date and your parents are poor that you are not entitled to land. Well society as a whole has decided the principles governing areas such as this and everything else up to what is murder and what should be fair if you park on a double yellow line.
