thanks for your support erwin and i understand where u are comin from but there is really nothing you can do about this day in music....as of right now i am trying to get a thing goin to bring hip hop back cuz the direction it's going now is horrible. i remember waitin in line at the music store to cop a new cd and never be dissapointed but now everytime i pick one up and get in line i wonder how much i'mma hate the thing due to lack of creativity, everything seems to sound the same or be in the same area with some recycled lyrics and chicken noodle soup and that british chicks songs are really makin me mad wit how big they got and that is not i repeat NOT hip hop it's crap

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing this generation that has followed the hip-hop, rap, whatever scene in about 20 or so years when they're in their 40s, 50s. Will it still be their music of choice then? I can't seem to wrap my mind around that image yet.

maybe you should grow up and realize that you have no right to appeasement by others. I've never heard of the right to not be annoyed, anyyway. People will listen to music you don't like at volumes you don't approve of. Learn to live with it. Don't be such an old curmudgeon. A little acceptance goes a long way. Like I said; with respect, you get what you give.

I enjoy loud music, but there's a distinct difference between an enjoyable listening level, and an obnoxious "I want the world to hear my music" level. The later of the two is blatant disrespect and complete disregard for our fellow man. It says "look at me, I'm a rebel, and I don't care what YOU think". It's a pathetic attitude that permiates not only the youth culture, but the baby-boomer culture as well.
Regardless, the same actions of disregard will continue amongst mankind until society as a whole admonishes this type of behavior, and rewards respect amongst individuals to promote it throughout society. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon, as we live in an indivdualistic and self centered society.
Hip-Hop as a whole, allows the "me first" mentality to flourish. I hate that. As if respecting people as people is wrong. Why do YOU have to EARN my respect before I'll consider you as a person with rights of their own?
Ahh.. I could rant on and on. I think I get it because I'm a father, and I hate it when these disrespectful kids drive by my house at 1:00AM with their stereos blaring at 120db and my son wakes up from it... I could slap every one of them...
To all of you who think you have a "right" to blast your music at obnoxious levels, or disregard everyone else because they haven't earned your respect... Grow up. You're simply feeding the downfall of society as we know it, and I hate you for it.

Hey mrT, the next time you're sitting at a light with the music cranked just take a look next to you and see that angellic little face smiling back while your rig is blasting out the m.f.'s, G-damns, c*cksucker, etc.
I have actually asked guys to turn it down in public when smaller kids were around (because of the language, not strictly based on volume ) and you know what...they were real nice about it and did turn it down. I know y'all are desensitized to the language but a lot of people aren't. And it is a little disconcerting when my mirrors are vibrating when my car is sitting still and my CD player is off.

Let me first say that my primary preference in music is country.
Anybody ever heard Motorhead? They're pretty damn loud, too. I'm sure there are people that may blast their Motorhead, Metallica, Iron Maiden, or whoever. This isn't just a "rapper" issue. I've even heard guys blaring country music out their windows.
I think part of the problem here is that the "loud" music overtakes the music the person in their car may be listening to.
Yes, I know windows could be rolled up, but that isn't always an option.
I used to (not any more, I have a family now) want to be able to have a sound system where when someone was playing loud music, and was playing it beside me at a stoplight (or whereever) I could turn my music way up, then it would become a battle over who had the "louder" stereo.
I guess the big question is do we (anyone who enjoys any style of music) really need 1,000 watt stereo systems in our cars to truly enjoy and engross ourselves in the music we love?

If you're older than, let's say 22, and you still have a "system" in your car that you have to blast (rap, country, rock, whatever), you're a tool. Period. Grow up. You look foolish. Doing this alone drops your respectable level to zero. Sure, you may have many other respectable aspects going for you, but those become unquestionably nullified.
