Do you feel that using spray adhesive will affect broadband absorber performance?

Long time reader..first time post. Building broadband absorbers and wondered if using spay adhesive on the back to attach the cloth would change the absorbsion properties?

(A) Doubtful.

(B) I don't know of a spray adhesive that's actually going to stick cloth to rigid fiberglass. Maybe hot glue or something... And even that's a big "maybe" --

He said "spay adhesive" - maybe that's the stuff they use instead of stitches to seal up dogs after surgery? ;)

I would think adhesive is not a good choice - it would make the cloth/fiberglass surface solid, you want a porous surface.

I built a wooden frame for mine and used a staple gun to attach the fabric to the wood. It looks decent and it's cheap. Spray adhesive might be even cheaper but I can't imagine it would look as good or hold up as well.

On my first build, I used 'spay' lol adhesive when using drywall corner bead frames. I found the construction technique of using a 1X2" frame, made more sense. I few pounds heavier, but way more stable. Plus no need for the spray stuff. Of course, the build involved a pneumatic nailer, and glue. And a Bandaid, as I shot one through my finger at one point...

Not until that happened. No Prince Albert thankfully!
