Do i NEED to mic an amp?

same ..... wife was at her moms so a friend invited me for a huge dinner, then I went home and watched the saints.
Made me feel a little better after watching LSU screw up.

My laptop is the only thing connected to the Internet...and it's nowhere near my studio, where I have absolutley nothing connected to the Internet.

And yeah...the laptop speakers suck.
 
And for the record...

Why should any of you care what I use to record my guitar.

I can get perfectly crappy tones out of both sims and amps.

SO THERE!!!!!!

No, I'm from New Orleans and have been a lifelong Saints fan. I was a little kid in the early 80's going to Aints games. I just live in Texas now.

When Dallas handed us out first loss last year, it was tough around here. Dallas fans are the worst gloaters around. They're stupid as hell too. I even had one dumb mexican trying to convince me that Dallas was the real superbowl champ because they beat us during the season. He doesn't cut my grass anymore. Lol. This year is different. Payback has been hell for the Cowfag fans I know. I'm gonna rub this shit in their face for as long as I can. I think we play Dallas again in 4 years. :D
 
it sounds to me that at the level you are at you should go with an amp simulator. i am a huge fan of mic'ing amps and getting the natural and real sound out of them, however, if you are at the early stages of recording, you can try all kinds of different sounds with simulators which are basically the 'fake' versions of owning different types of amplifiers and putting a mic on them.
