Basically my USB-MIDI Casio keyboard wont install in my new laptop as it did the last time in my old pc.
Should i change the cable because all im using is a usb cable to be routed to my laptop. Or should i just get a new keyboard which would be a waste since my keyboard is worth $250.........

couple of thoughts:

Maybe check to see if there's some new drivers from Casio.

Sometimes you can install things as a generic MIDI device, that might come up in a panel somewhere depending on your setup.

At the worst you could get a simple USB to MIDI thingamabob (like an M-Audio Uno) and just use the Casio's MIDI out if there's no way you can get the USB connection to work.

Also - yesterday my M-Audio keyboard wouldn't work and I swapped the USB cable and then it did... might wanna try that jes in case. :)

At worst get a USB to MIDI thing, I see them for $20 on Craigslist all the time.

what casio KB and what version of windows 7?

7 64 or 32? That KB is not supported on 64bit. You should just get a 64bit capable USB 1x1 interface..
