Do I have talent?

I am rather sorry about that. I do kind of tend to get a bit strange it my thoughts sometimes. And, yeah greg. I really didn't take your second comment too well, though I do know what I said sounded weird. I am about to laugh myself to death because of what I said. Man that sounded far out. I wasn't trying to be weird, but that dude just said something that hit on what I was thinking. But really, don't all song writers think a bit strange?

Propman, I am the guy who got you thinking about the singularity. YOU ARE THE SINGULARITY, GET IT?

I got you thinking. Greg reacted to your diatribe in response to that thought.

There is no one like you. Greg is bored with you, I'm bored with you, YOU should be bored with you.

I am bored with myself. I WRITE BECAUSE I HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER.

I wrote: "I've Got A Bag For Your Head"

"Yam Man"

"Show Me Your Bumps With The Lights On"

"My Lobotomy Baby"

"Little Brown Honky Lady"

"Outworlders"

"Carbon And Stone"

Who the fuck else is going to write that shit. I write it because I am bored with the world.

You write things that are mildly twisted. Great, that's your POV.

When you wrote Fire Ants, why didn't you snort them?

Don't do shit half way. There's only room for one Barry Manilow.

There is only one reason that a writer writes. HE CAN HELP IT.

If you write for ANY OTHER REASON, you are a WHORE.

I found truth in all that you said--but this...this I really like. (It applies to so much besides writing, too). I love the way it cuts right to the quick.

I wanna hear "My Lobotomy Baby". :D

You'd love it, Greg.

Here are the lyrics: Shit, it's been so long, I had to look up the last verse.

(1st verse)
B A F#
Don't try to teach her how to tie her shoes
B A F#
She'll only make you want to sing the blues
B A F#
Don't try to teach her how to wipe her nose
B A F#
She always gets it on her fancy clothes . . .

Chorus
A B E A
She's my lobotomy baby
A B E A
You know she's driving me crazy
She's my lobotomy baby
You know she's driving me crazy

(2nd verse)
Don't try to teach how to sing a song
She can't remember all the words that long
Don't try to teach her how to play guitar
Just dress her up and let her be a star

(chorus)

Don't ever let her wander far from home
She don't know how to use a telephone
Don't try to teach her how to drive a care
Her mind is sitting in a Mason jar

(chorus)

Want to cover it?;) It's a great rocker:)

Composer's notes: The F# plays full as a bar chord and then the bar comes off and the index finger just frets the B string in the 2nd fret for a hammer-on and then three more beats.

The A chord at the end of the chorus lines alternate a pull-off on the 2nd fret of the 1st and 2nd string with the third (ring) finger

Understand?

Why, thank you Strat. I'd let you marry my daughter, if I had one.:D

Why should I be bored with me? Just because you and greg are? I don't agree with that. And the reason I didn't "snort the fire ants" is becuase it was a song about being paranoid about fire ants. Not using them for drugs.

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.:D OK, you don't have to be bored. But you need to take risks, grasshopper.;)

what about Nick Drake? he was shy about singing for an audience and never even performed. but thank god he decided to go ahead and record his songs.

I fucking love Nik Drake. That is all. If i wrote When the day is done I'd go looking for a low bridge at high tide, absolute genious.

Most of my stuff is only popular with my family. There are a couple songs I did that someone liked.

And there was one that was really good and a lot of people liked.

But I don't care. I am doing this because I like it. It makes me happy. That's all that counts, and that's all that should count.

Exfuckingactly. Excepty my family hate my music but they know fuck all. It's therapy this music lark. It's about the gratification you get from it. The only positive feedback I've ever gotten was on here and it's definately an ego massage but ultimately it means fuck all. No disrespect... If you think too much about making a living out of it - it will smother every ounce of creativity inside you. Do it for the craic(irish fun, not coke) and pay your bills doing whatever else there is. My day job is soul destroying - if I let it be and I do when I ask myself the question the OP is asking. That goes for engineering too. Just enjoy the fact that it's interesting and endless.
