DMP3 VS VTB1 (Vocals only)

hi i have a tlm193 mic and need a simple pre thats gonna give me a better sound...

i was told be many that the vtb1 is the best under $200 though i heard recording with the dmp3 and i'm not sure which pre i should get now..

r&b and rap vocals only.. some soft singers some hi energy rappers and every where in between.

another question..how would i set it up?
1 )mic-->preamp-->mixer-->delta 1010-->Nuendo
OR
2) mic-->preamp-->delta 1010-->nuendo

ok, i picked up a Vally audio 401 off ebay over the vtb1 and the dmp3.. can anyone comment on this pre
