I cant remember who asked about the mics on Daves guitar on the cd Crash. But the guy from bearsville studio in NY finally emailed me back. He appologized for the late reply. He told me that is was a long time ago, but he definitely remembers using both the AKG 414 and the Neumann u87 on most of the guitar tracks. Then he gave some advice about not trying to get an exact sound like someone elses tracks. He talked about betting a good signal and a good sound before eqing. He was really nice. I was very surprised, he works at a huge multi million dollar studio, works with artist like Dave, and still took time to answer my email. Way to go Bearsville!!!!!
