Hey there.
So i'm having alot of trouble coming up with a good solution for my studio. I've been reasearching and researching and i just can't figure out what to do and how to do it cheaply.
I live in an apartment. It's a small room, 11x10x8 about. 2 Concrete Walls (Outer and Shared wall with next apartment), the other's I'm not so sure about. Floor is carpeted.
What I want:
1) Fix the Standing Waves/Flutter echo deal.
2) Soundproof as much as possible.
3) Cheaply.
4) Install w/o damaging the apartment, and making it temporary.
I would like it to be a really versatile space. I want a good sound for acoustic guitar, while still being able to have a drum kit in there and not disturb my neighbors.
I'm willing to DIY it for sure.
For Absorbtion panels. Frame, Insulation, Fabric. Got that part. But how many do I need?
Do I need bass traps? What corners should I put them in?
Do drapes do anything at all? If I can at least install drapes will that solve the the standing waves problem?
For drums, would a riser be a good idea? While it would give a dead sound, being more soundproof is more important than a great drum sound (aka, it's better to be able to record than not record at all). How would i go about doing a DIY Riser? Is it worth it to DIY something like that?
Thanks alot for the help guys, I'm pretty lost on this subject.
