Tried to check the photos out but updates 1-5 seem to have bad image links. None of the photos load.
But it was good to see the use of resilient channels being used. I found it is especially need in a basement setting. As these also turn your walls into bass absorbers, it is greatly needed with solid walls. Although I found them a rayal pain to use, suspending the walls really cuts down on the bass build-up.

I also had trouble with the images using Netscape, but they worked fine using Internet Explorer.

yeah, use Internet Explorer. Netscape doesn't like the code.

got 'em

I JUST was looking at them. Looks pretty damn cool man. One thing I do see is a chanced missed on the angled corners. You know where you have the top and bottom cutouts for leakage? The same material that is used for the tube traps is also made in flat panels. (I use them for the 2 points on the side walls where the speakers reflect off). Well, squares cut to be larger than the hole can be glued inside and this will add the resistive nature to the leak so energy would be absorbed. You could run a line of them right down the center and just make grills for the cut-outs.
Worth a try...

wow

Thanks for coming by Jon ... welcome to hr.com!

what a great idea ... this is exactly what I'm looking for ... something that's not permanently attached or built into the room.
AND what an amazing site ... your art is very interesting and I LOVE the room renderings. I am very impressed.

Hey Dude, thanks man. Truth to tell, I can't believe there is a sane sounding forum/newsgroup! Got burned out early with all the flames and crap on the high end audio sites.

And yes, while most purpose built studios "vent" the room by bleeding out the pressure in some way, in most home studios you cant go adding a four foot wall space to vent into! So some kind of intrusive device is needed. This looks good and is moveable and tunable.
If you are particularly handy one can make "quarter rounds" and soffitt the perimeter of the room too.

Thanks for the comments on the page! I've been pushing pixels for four and a half years, and just like you guys and the people you record, ya just gotta practice. If you find something you love to do, I say hit it with the biggest stick you have and see what cracks open for you. This has turned into a decent side gig and getting better every day. I just finished my first small Flash intro for a client, but I had my head in two thick assed books for over a week first. One AM every night or later, and a full 10hr shift the next day. And by the way, I'm 42, wife, full family etc. Only thing is something has had to give and this has been my listening time, so my reviewing gig I have going has slowed. But hey, I learnin' to make purty pitchers and gettin' paid (sometimes) too! I'm havin' fun...
