Id be interested in this also. How much are they? Could quite possible be a scam

I know a guy who did an electronics masters degree. He said that he did some work experience at the BBC and they let him look in one of the neve mixers. He took apart a few channels, and wrote all the components down, and then took it home and did some reasearch. He made 4 channel strips with just gain, and they sounded amazing.

Sounds like a similar thing.

He's not really selling a kit - more like a few parts with a perf-board which you can buy yourself for around $200. That means he’s making ~$400 for the schematics which you can get free off Jensen’s or Fred Forssell’s site. Either way, you still have to build a power supply and make a box to put it in (the most difficult part, IMHO).

Fred Forssell designed that op amp for Millennia, but sells an improved version for $65.

From the description given on the web site plus all the reports I’ve heard, the transformer is a Lundahl LL1636 which is a very small (-2dBU) input transformer and can be had here for $62. It’s so small that a loud signal from a hot condenser mic would probably saturate the thing, but maybe that’s where the “tube” sound comes from – who knows. Anyway, there are better Lundahl transformers for this application like the 1538XL or LL1674.
