Distribution, first release - EDM - how to

Hello,

So how did you start distributing your EDM CD/Vinyl?

I would like to press my work on to Vinyl or CD and I am plainning to do so this year. But how does that whole distribution thing works?

Is there a distributor that I can send something like 500 copies and they deliver the records to the shops???
