As folks can tell by now, I'm wrapping up a full year's reworking of my releases. I had to first tear apart all of the original albums and recategorize what songs I wanted to regroup in various collections, first assembling them in like-kind conceptual flows - so that the albums switched from a basis of "Things I finished recently" to "These songs play nice together." in the approach to listening.

The result is the groupings simply sound like they belong on the same album. This approach is time tested. Not all the songs bands produce in the studio make it to being released, and when they are, they are carefully crafted with an ear toward "continuity". That's what my last year's project was about. I wanted better continuity.

I figured that since I'm completely unknown, no reputations would be sullied by the revamp. Holders of the original albums would now own collectibles. :D

Following the change of song rosters, then everything had to be remixed and remastered so they sounded like they belonged together.

Lastly, videos where assembled for each album, and when completed in full, uploaded to YouTube for library purposing. I then post the link here so folks can peruse and enjoy at their leisure - as a lot of the material has been published here over the years.

I'm still working on organizing the videos, but I'm getting the final work on that piece of the reorganization done slowly but surely as well.

I've seen all your album postings.

Hopefully I'll get time soon to just sit down and give these a listen without interruption. That's what we USED to do when we bought records... way back in the middle ages. :listeningmusic:

We even still use archaic vernacular such as "album" terminology - because our minds still have a Side A and Side B mentality.

When I went to re-sort the collections, I actually grappled with the dilemma of whether I should compartmentalize things into more of an EP format versus LP. Kids today wouldn't even know what that meant.

It's weird how distracting this online age has become. I used to grab a book, don some headphones and listen to music while reading. Half the time, I'd not even read the book. Distraction is now built into all online engagement. Going to YouTube, they'll just start a new video after the one you watched just to keep your eyeballs glued there. FB is the same way. I'm weaning myself from such thievery and going back to basics in the real world.

With the onset of AI, online is not to be trusted. For Christ's sake, AI was one of the top streams on Spotify. That's why I only use Bandcamp. They forbid any AI music.

Yes, my name is Kev, and I am a dinosaur. :D
