Cool tune. Never heard it before. I'm going to have to google them.

Any way, you sounded very good. I like it.

Thanks for sharing and introducing me to Pulp.

Awesome, thanks man! I like a few of their songs, but wasn't their biggest fan. When I was at school everyone called me Jarvis because I looked a lot like the singer - I was a lot slimmer then.

PULP - LOVE 'em.
Mis Shape, Weeds, Help the Aged, Common People, This is Hardcore etc. are classic singles.
They only play the occasional festival now & don't record. Jarvis' solo albums have been underwhelming.

You really got a great sound out of that sim. Sounds raunchy enough to be an abused live amp cranked up. The drums and harpsichord are a little conspicuous in their sample-icious-ness. Vocals sound great, I like the compression on them. The only place that the vocals sounded off to me was the "ooh" bit at the very end.

The mix sounds good to me. The synth and harpsichord could come down just a tiny bit, but that's just because those aren't sounds that I like. But they sit on top of everything nicely. If you did any EQ work, it was done well. Everything fits nicely. Nice job!

The only thing that sounded fake to me were the drums. Actually, they really didn't even sound fake to me, it's just that whenever someone uses something fake on here, it's always the drums. The bass definitely sounded real to me. Maybe I'm not the one to be giving mix comments...

This is a catchy little tune. I like it. Excellent singing.

I'm not familiar with this tune or even this band, so I can't compare to the original, but I think you got a good sound here. I thought the vocals were really well performed and captured with sort of a slapback effect on them. That was nice.

I wasn't so fond of the tone of the drums (just a tad on the robotic side), but it may be just right for this particular tune.

The bass was largely MIA on my set up and I thought the guitars could still come down a hair maybe, but overall I thought you did a good job with this. Thanks.

I saw them at Glastonbury a couple of years ago. I say 'saw them' - they were the secret, surprise guest everyone knew about on a stage with no screens. They had to close the area because everyone wanted to go up there, so we had to climb a fence. Couldn't see a thing.

Thanks for the listen! The vocals were totally smashed by two compressors - a LA-2A then a 1176 VST (both Softube's versions). They made it sound quite rich in the lower frequencies, which I liked. The drums are totally fake and I didn't really have time to try and make them sound real, so I just kept them simple. That is a harpsichord in Kontakt - good ear, I don't think I could have picked it out as precisely. I didn't do any EQ and the synths are pretty much just presets (or very close to the preset).

Thanks NTB! The vocal is by far my best so far - I'm getting much more confident on the mic. There's a lot fake in the recording, but I like how it ended up.

Thanks heat! Like I say, the vocal came out the best I've done. I like the delay when you can hear it on the two 'oh yeah's after the second chorus. The drums are very robotic, but it is what it is!

Thanks again to everyone who has listened and commented - I really appreciate it!!!
