All,

Help! I'm just the bass player, what do I know about digital recorders!.....:)

Seriously, I have a Tascam DP01/FX/CD which works great, but can only record two tracks at a time. I'd really like to get a unit that records 8 tracks simulataneously, preferably a used unit, but there are so many choices! And I hear bad things about the Tascam 2488.

So, any advice? I'd like 8 track simulatenous recording, hard drive and CD burner. I suspect I'll have to settle for 16bit and not 24bit recording.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have 2 Fostex VF160's You can do 8 simulatenous. If you pick up a something like An ADA8000 along with the VF160 it will record 16 simulatenous.

They are built like a tank. They go for under $400 used on EBay.

i bought a korg d3200 a couple of weeks ago and its a great unit,
12 tracks simulataneously, 32 tracks in all

its the most expensive multi tracker in the price range but there is a good reason for that

i bought mine on ebay for 900euro

biggest complaint is about the size of the screen but it dose'nt bother me
