hi today i recorded a guitar track micing an amp with a akg perception 170 into my audio kontrol 1 sound card

after listening to the track i discovered that at random points during the recorded material a pop like sound would occur

no im pretty positive ive read about it somewhere

but i havent been able to find a way to get rid of it

so my question is two things

what causes these "pops"?
and HOW do i get rid of them?

i am aware that i will probably need to rerecord the track which isnt a problem i just want to stop the problem in the future.

thanks

Check you levels on you interface and Daw and dont go into the red

Look up pc optimizing..turn off your wireless card, internet, virus protection, any ports not in use (especially USB), and set video card options way back.

Pops and clicks are caused by interrupts to your processor, or can sometimes be attributed to un-stable sound card drivers. Make sure you have the newest drivers for your sound card (asio), or try Asio4All as a driver.

ahhh ok thanks alot, yea ill run it down to bare minimum, but recently i changed the buffer rate and tired to speed it up, could this have started all the beeps?

because it even pops when i go to edit old tracks ive recorded where i know there was no beep.
