Delta 66 problem

Hi...

I'm having a problem with my delta...i have my delta 66 hooked up..which my studio monitors going into the outputs..and running protools m-powered..whenever i play sound through pro tools or any song on my computer for that matter...i get this skipping sound..it distorts and skips at certain points when im guessin the computer loads a bit...can anyone help me with this problem..thank you

Can you list a little more info about your computer, such as cpu, ram, OS, and if there are any other devices hooked up to it? Is this computer used for recording only, or is it an all around internet etc. computer? Is the internal soundcard and any graphics acceleration disabled? Are you using ASIO, wdm, or other drivers, and what are your buffer and latency settings?

nvidia 8800gt sound card
the internal soundcard is NOT disabled
im also runnin m-audio revolution 7.1
I also use internet on it
The graphics hardware acceleration is FULL with write combining enabled
1680 x 1050 (32 Bit colours)
im using ASIO drivers for the delta 66 on reason
96/24 bit

output source --> sw rtn (should i change it to mixer?)
