I’ve been running a Delta 1010 for a few years no and it’s been rock solid reliable.

I’ve got a buddy who’s looking for at least an 8 in 8 out unit. The kid at GC is trying to sell him a MAudio 1814 because GC (at least my local one) no longer carries the 1010. What I’m a little confused about is the specs (I know specs aren’t everything) my buddies Echo Mia card is better than the 1814 and the 1010 is way beyond the 1814 in terms of dynamic range and signal/noise ratio. He doesn’t need the preamps in the 1814 because he’s got a console. He will be recording drums. For his needs I think the 1010 is the unit to go with unless any of you guys have a compelling reason to go with firewire.

i have the delta 1010 and love it. i've recorded soooo much stuff on it already and it REALLY gets the job done!

it's a great option and i would choose it over anything firewire or usb.

does he need it to be portable? thats the main thing about firewire..if he doesnt need it to be portable then go with the 1010 or the layla 3G

Doesn't need it to be portable. So yeah I'm leaning toward the 1010 or and Echo Layla..
