Hey, anyone know or experienced this.

My friend tried to hook up midi interface (MOTU) to my computer last night...(ahgg..I don't know why I let him try)
Anyways, the delta 1010 won't work and at one point we smelled a really strange electric type smell..
Did he fry it?
anyone know if these are expensive to repair.
I know it is kind of vague, but any information would help..Thanks

Unless you plugged in something else than midi ports into the midi ports of the 1010, then no. Try to talk to M-audios support...

Was the smell from the computer or the outboard box?

thanks for information

we couldn't tell where the smell was coming from because we didn't know the delta didn't work yet.
I'll call maudio and post the results in case this has happened to anyone. Thanks a lot

output

to the output post,
what happened when your output died? Did you repair?

Thanks

called up m-audio, went thru a couple of hoops, got an ra#. never sent the damn thing in though. i'm such a lazy bastard.

I just recently got my Delta 1010 back from M-Audio. They told me that practically every (whatever thing inside) that has to do with power was fried. They repaired it for free and I actually hooked up my new monitors to it about 5 mins ago. They also did some extra work to the Delta 1010...replaced the LED's etc. Works like a gem now.

Only problem is that I can't seem to control the volume from the Control Panel..... :(

Under the M-Audio control panel, do you have bass management on? It allows you to control the master volume via a single slider. I'm using driver version 5.10.00.0048 in win xp. There is an M-Audio icon on my taskbar by default. If you "single" click the icon, a master volume slider will come up. You have to have bass management on for this to work.

I use Cool Edit/Adobe Audition on occasion for wave editing. For some reason, I can't get the preview volume control to work when using my 1010lt. Any ideas on this?

BTW, I have talked to a couple of other people that had the same problem that I experienced with my 1010lt (one or two outputs died).

When you're editing in AA, have you already got another Audio program, like Cakewalk open? Although the Delta driver is multiclient, some programs hold the driver and nothing else can use it. Cakewalk have a "share drivers" audio option to allow another program in while theirs is stopped. This allows an Editor such as AA to be launched from Cakewalks Tools menu to work on selected clip/s.

Presumably, you do have the 1010LT output you wish to use selected for use in AA's Device Options - marked "use in EV" (edit view)?

I'm not running another prog at the same time as AA. I do have the option checked in cakewalk to share drivers though. I have tried switching the outputs under AA from 1/2 to multi. No change. Any other ideas?

Also, under AA, when I try to open the windows mixer, I get a message saying that there is something wrong with my hardware. I assume this is because I'm using the delta software.
