Do you also listen to music with swear words in it and subscribe to strange political ideologies?
Sometimes. I can guarantee you one thing. Those buildings did not come down because of 19 bozos with Exacto knives. That's all I know.

Depends on the bozos...

I'm not sure I understand this reference but according to new Canadian law, you're a terrorist.

I've never understood why clowns are supposed to be funny. They're just really annoying people with big shoes.

Yup. I probably am. And now, they're allowed to bug my phone, open my mail and basically do stuff that would embarrass Hitler. All in the name of an imaginary "War on terror". I can't believe how stupid and gullible people are.

But I digress..........................:D

I couldn't let ^^^^^THAT^^^^^be the last post in this thread. :(

Now, I'm ok if the thread dies. And if it dies, I just have to say thank you again to all you guys. Every single person that posted in this thread was incredibly helpful.

Thanx assholes. :D

Now it's the last post again. Hah.

You should read my last PM I sent you instead of getting high with Arabs or whatever.

You sent me a PM?

Oh shit yeah. I remember reading it when I was half asleep. I'll have to go back and read it again. Sorry about that Sctchschstwarrz. :(

Rock solid vibe and performance. Like always.

I think the bass and kick are a bit too loud. Great separation on them tho. I can easily hear both distinctly. That's not easy to do.

I think the guitars are a bit muffled. Or moreso than usual. They don't sound bad. I'd just like a wee bit more sparkle.

In general things sound awesome, like usual. I'd just tweak those couple of spots.

Oh and I especially liked that bass part.

Thanx a lot, Triple. I'll give this a listen again in a few days. Right now, I need to get away from it. Thanx a lot dude.

Rami, are you using room mics at all? I am curious if maybe using a room mic or a pair of them might make the drum image feel a little bigger. For me, the SDCs I use on the overheads sound kind of thin compared to the MDCs I am using for room mics. In my room, the SDCs pick up the stick attack and lots of detail but definitely don't do the heavy lifting.

Everything is super tight, as usual.

I know you're really not a fan of lots of double tracks, but I also think if you doubled up some of your rhythm guitar tracks they would also add some weight and heft and... girth... I reckon it's a stylistic choice you are making to keep it simple. The vocal lines at 3:15 and beyond are a little quiet.

I came at 2:28, btw. Your drumming here is liquid, euphonic, and... what's the word.... mellifluous. :)

You don't digress. I can't believe how right wing our ordinarily sensible country has become recently. I'm counting on you to do something about it. Songs like this help.

Rami, are you using room mics at all?

Here's the better question: RAMI, do you have a good room to record drums in? If the answer to that question is yes, then the answer to your question is yes. I learned this from Greg. He's pretty smart in some respects.

Listened again to the mix on page 4. Just because. On the 'b-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-', did you put an effect on that? It's uncannily steady. It's exactly effective, whatever you did/didn't do to it.

No, I don't use room mics. My room is too dead for that. I've tried using room mics and it added nothing to the image. Funny, I've been told that my stereo image is too wide on more than one occasion.

Everything is super tight, as usual.
Thanx man.

I don't know where you got that I'm not a fan of double tracking. My rythm guitars ARE double tracked. So are all my vocals.

Yeah, that's a deliberate choice. I didn't want them up front. Listen to "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For ME and My Monkey" by the Beatles. I was going for some of that screaming in the background that sounds like it's happening about 10 feet away from a mic.

Thanx a lot, Casey. I love that part, too, to be honest. The cool thing about this tune (or at least, it's cool to me) is that the whole thing is based on a drum pattern/beat I was learning. It's a sticking pattern that goes R-L-L-R L-R-R-L, kind of an inverted paradiddle. I was screwing around with that, turned it into a beat by adding accents where I wanted them, etc...and then made a song from it.

No, nothing out of the ordinary there. I just sang and sustained it with no vibrato. It actually sounds weird solo'd, but works in the mix, I think.

Thanx guys.

I can't add much to what everybody else has said, RAMI, and as I didn't wade in at the beginning of the thread everybody else seems to have weeded out any nits that there were initially. :D

This is not normally my kind of listen but everything's super clear, lovely tight playing, a balanced mix and especially good drums and vocals. I almost feel that the vocals and guitar riffs are heading into Rush territory, then other bits remind me of a kind of Jane's Addiction vibe (without that band's rolling basslines). Cool stuff - you're a paragon of technique on here.
