Okay, I thought I would post some Death Metal that I recorded about '98-'99 or so, I think, when I first started recording on a computer! I have some old tapes from my Tascam Portastudio, but I don't have any way to get them digital, I don't even own a cassette player anymore!!
Anyway, this is mediocre quality at best but I thought it was a pretty cool song, death metal style anyway, also the vocals are not on this recording....and I'm pissed because I can't find a recording that has them....oh well, the song sounds kind of repetitive without 'em, so bear in mind......
I'm doing a studio overhaul and I was feeling nostalgic, tell me how awful this song is!! :D :D

Godless

P.S. I actually kind of like the sound of this one, However, it has no relevance to me now whatsoever....I have some much worse stuff I might post later! Yipee!! :D

Hi

Your bad recordings are better than my good ones. I like the tone of the guitars and the drums. Good stuff.

/Jack Real.

Hey thanks Jack!
Those guitars are recorded direct with just a Boss Metal Zone pedal! I am actually pretty happy that it ever came out that good!

metalhead, dude, that was nice. I loved it. Very good, tight playing. Smooth transitions with the drumline. Fast, and clean picking. I sure wish I had me some of those chops. Man, for an older recording, sounds good.

Nothing further to add...

Your worst, better than my best... etc.

HORNS!!!

Cool stuff man. Im surprised the metal zone is even listenable ran direct haha. So many people destroy their sound with those things. Riff around 1:30 is great. This would have been cool to hear it with vocals.

Great playing! I agree, very good job articulating your notes. I'm not a big fan of that drum track though. Everything else kicks ass though imo.

yeah, I used to plug in the metal zone, roll out a bunch of treble and mids, and play about 4 tracks or so to try to fill it out. I am surprised by that nowadays.....I used to be resourceful!
Thanks for the listen guys!

And you still have use of them arms and fingers??? :D

That was awesome, and on a porta-studio? That is a good portable recorder. Of course the talent at the other end has a lot to do with it. ;)

yeah, I used to live in an apartment where even turning on an amp would have brought the fuzz......I had to get really creative to try to get decent sounds...and at the time I had no idea that it was a shitty way to do it, also, I didn't even know about the POD at the time! :D , I might have tried it!

You know, I have gotten back into this song after listening to it again, I think I might actually redo this someday soon with some better gear and actually put the vocals to it, if I can find 'em, or at least remember some of 'em!

cool song. i'd hate to have to play the drums for this song though haha...sounds rough. yeah and the guitar has a surprisingly good tone. nice work!

Badass drumming, not the most inventive ever, but totally perfect. If those aren't triggered kicks I'll shit myself. Yeah, great tone, totally fits the '99 era underground metal scene...

Tighter playing than a nun's asshole! (can't remember where I heard that)

I like the drumming. The tones sound great. Very good recording.
