This is pretty excellent dobro. Cool lyrics, melody and arrangement. The guitar solo works a treat, very nice.

I much prefer the first organ version though. For me, the second has a boardwalk sound that doesn't suit the song - the first sounds like it belongs where it is. I'd stick with that if I were you. However, I recognise that you could get a hundred different suggestions from different people about what to put in that second verse - the arrangement offers a pretty versatile backdrop.

I was experimenting with Mickster's suggestions when I changed the organ part. Time and more listenings will probably make it clear which one to go with, but at this point I think I like the sound of the original but I prefer the part I played on the second one. And the beauty of MIDI is that the sounds are so interchangeable anywhere along the line. Related issue: the second sound is actually a combination of two tracks with two different organ sounds involved. MIDI just opens up tons of possibilities for layered sounds. It's awesome. Maybe I didn't get the layering right in this instance, but I'll be tinkering with this approach with more stuff in the future for sure. Thanks for the listen, Rob.
