Based on what you said, if you ever get to try an AKG C451E or EB with a CK1 (card) capsule, you just might love it. Don't try one if you don't want to buy it though..... I always think of the 451 as the sound of "nashville" AC Gtrs. I'm not doing pop music with AC's mostly - usually in a more film or orchestral arrangement and I prefer a more natural darker sound, so the KM84 works better for me most of the time. Accurate delivery of the transients is my paramount concern with that application.
