Do it right or dont do it
That's great... well, I think i have to get a decent tube amp to achieve a decent distortion sound. My crate gx15 is a shame, haha.
Ive been looking at bellari stereo tube compressor. The 2 space model(500.00). I've heard good stuff about them. You may want to look at getting a channel strip (mic pre, comp, and eq). It's nice to have one good channel strip. I would look at focusrite, or amek. It's worth the money.killthepixel said:Do you have any recommendations in rackmount compressors?
Farview said:why would you need a compressor on distorted guitar? Most of the time the distortion is all the compression you need.
It must not be all that distorted, or the low end jumps up everytime the player palm mutes a lower note.Raw-Tracks said:Oooohhh, I beg to differ. It's not at all unusual for me to use a compressor on a distorted guitar.
Right. Anything that actually has dynamics. Heavily distorted guitar tones are compressed naturally.killthepixel said:Well, I'm starting to understand distorted guitars don't get benefitiated with compression. Think it's more useful for vocals or "clean" sounds, right?
