Hi-
I've recently purchased the following computer:
Apple G4 dual 867, 60 GB, 512 MB ram running OSX
I currently have the following music equipment:
Hammond XK2, Yamaha P-80, and a Roland PC-200 MK II midi controller which I've never used.
Now, because I'm an OSX fan I realize that my options are limited regarding setting up a DAW. I will be doing mostly keyboard based music, so I'm looking for an affordable way to get into recording, sampling (orchestra, drums, etc) using MIDI and occasional live multi-track capability (only would use a few tracks should friends come over to jam).
I'm a complete newbie to this, but I understand I'll need a new soundcard (for MIDI, right?) and some software. I've been looking at Logic as I've heard they're coming out with Logic 6 soon, along with Cubase and MOTU although the latter hasn't officially released its software for OSX yet.
Please advise where a good starting point would be and what has proven to work with OSX.
Thanks.
