I currently use a Yamaha O1V as a control surface for Nuendo. But it only allows control of 14 channels and a master.
I need control of 24 channels.
I can really make the O1V fly as a control surface, I've used it a lot, and I'm used to it.
So I could either get another O1V and "piggy-back" it onto the one I have, OR, I could get an honest to goodness control surface such as the Mackie control surface. Of course, I'd have to get its 2 extenders to have control of 24 channels.
Being as I don't use the pres or effects in the O1V, it is strictly a control surface to me. I've heard that the O1V's fader resolution is less than ideal for use as a serious mixing tool.
I'm about ready to hock the O1V and go with the mackie, but I wanted some input first.
I don't like the SAC2 Radikal, or the Houston, so.... no need to offer up those.
I'll either end up building a custom console, or cave in and just buy one from Argosy. I believe they have a console that's custom made for the mackie controller.
