DA users--What console? Help!

Hi fellow DA users. I have 2 DA38's and am using the Alesis 32 board because the routing is easy to use especially the in line monitoring. I'd love to take a step up (Allen and Heath, Soundcraft) It's hard to find info on many of these boards in recording setups. I've been told everything from get a 32 track board to use the inserts plugged halfway in blah blah blah What are you guys using. Please give me some options. The Alesis ain't that bad but it ain't that good either.

OH yeah how about the Tascam M-2524?
 
when I used the alisis 32 I used two DA38s also but I then got the Tascam dm24 board
and that was heaven except I went and bought a DA78 so I would have 24 tracks and have a clock to sink everything together. they still work with the DM24 but you cant use the Automation and controls on the board to run the 38s without a word clock.
