Ack!
Bought a used DA-88 off ebay, supposedly in working condition. Having problems with my DA-88 I was getting some error codes. Took it in for servicing the guy looked at it, and in two days had 'fixed' it. Ran a tape through it in the shop, it seemed to work ok.
Well, I get it home, it's still having the same problems ...... Serr Er 8 and Serr Er 31 which appear to be linked to the transport.
I'm wondering if it's the tape I'm using. I'm using Fujifilm Hi-8 MP tapes. The say 'professional grade video cassette' on them, 2 for $15 cdn. I just noticed they don't have the DTRS logo on them. Am I using the wrong tapes? Could this be my problem?
I suppose I could change tapes and find out, but I was hoping to get some opinions here before I spend more money on this thing.
