Cutting bass traps in half (the long way...)

Just curious to see if anyone here has cut their 2'x4' RGF corner bass traps in half (to make them 1'x4') and if so, how well have they performed?

I'm thinking about doing this and using the extra fiberglass (or roxul, in my case) to fix a nasty reflection coming off of the back wall. Right now, my bass traps are 4" thick and straddling the corners. I can't afford another box of roxul at the moment (it is Christmas time after all :D)

Would this be a bad idea? It would only be a temporary fix until I can buy more.

Thanks.

Get some compressed fiberglass pipe insulation and make some extra traps. It's cheaper. ;)

Yeah I figured I'll just hope for some money-filled Christmas cards and do it the right way :D

Thanks.
