Custom Guitar - Bridge Choice

Gents,

Can you give me a hand with a bridge choice - been designing a guitar for a while and I'm stumped on my bridge/tailpiece choice.

I want a through body strung, neck through design (that's definite).

Initially, I just wanted standard adjustable block saddles; something like these:
Fixed Bridge Humbucker-Spaced
This is a bit like what I have on my tele and Washburn Wing.

However, I really like the look of the though body stringing on the old Flying V guitars:

I really like the idea of having a few centemeters between where the string exits the body and goes over the bridge - in the case of that Flying V, its Tone-O-Matic style

Problem is, I don't really like Tune-O-Matic bridges, I find them a bit ugly, and a little uncomfortable.

Is there something I could use like this:
Gotoh Stop Tailpiece
in conjunction with through body stringing? Or is there a nice, slimmer, smoother, Tune-O-Matic style, that looks simple and isn't too spikey. All my other hardware, will probably be black nickel too so this would be preferable.

Just been looking the Kluson Harmonica Bridge looks pretty cool.
