Swishing? Clothing, guitar, or art?

Oh I forgot - I think there was a spot or two where I think I could hear you move in your chair. that might be what he's referring to.

If I were to say anything, it is a tad bit bright, but this is well within the personal taste parameters. I thought it sounded (version 2) sounded really nice. I think just a guitar and vocals are probably the hardest thing to record. There is no hiding, for the performer or the engineer.

Good tune.

that was a really nice song. your voice is really good, i can hear a bit of bob dylan influence there. and also a really interesting guitar sound. well done.

I thought everything was recorded very clearly. I'm noticing some vocal artifacts - mouth clicks and pops.

Am I noticing tape hiss?

You know me and reverb. What you have here was well done. I'd personally prefer a more "intimate" mix - one that sounds like the musician is sitting right next to me. This sounds like a musician alone in an auditorium.

But no big problems at all. It sounded good.

Mouth noise, yeah. Amp buzz, yeah. I'm sure you've talked about reverb before, but I disremember it temporarily... But you know what, I'll make an alternate mix with verb the variable. Thanks, yeah.

Or the guitar player. :) The bright comment's useful. I've got nothing on the master buss yet. Thanks.

Within 15 seconds I could tell that I liked the drier version much better. Personal taste thing, but I think it sounds a ton better that way.

Okay, so we're just about there. Is there a possibility that you like it better cuz in the past almost all of my stuff has been dry dry dry?

Well, since I'm not tainted with a predisposition, I can say the latest version fits the style. Guitar dry, vocals dry, feels intimate.

I don't think so. What I like is the sound has better edges to it ... which to me lends a more natural sound to it.

No taint? Very valuable. :D Thanks for weighing in. I'm just *so* experimental with reverb right now.

I just listened now and the first thing I noticed was the vocal reverb, I really love the space this is in for aesthetic (meaning "I don;t know why") reasons, it just sounds great to me. I'm not a fan of the dryer and close vocal on a guitar and vocal mix usually because it reminds me too much of recordings I made on my Realistic cassette deck in '72. I very much like the guitar composition as well, nicely thought out and the pick-up at the end is interesting with a nice transition. The guitar tone is cool too because the muting of the bass notes gives the notes a classical/nylon feel and as you run across the high 3 strings you let them sing with steel brightness. Seems like a productive "experiment", but I like the performance too, your vocal reminds me at times of Roger Waters, without the doom. Cool creation.
