ive just recently started using cubase and think its the coolest thing since sliced chocolate...

however there are lots of things i dont understand (ive been reading the manual .pdf but its MASSIVE!)

can someone tell me the difference between send and insert effects? if i want to have and effect on just one part of a track, how do i do it? and it seems there is a third way of adding effects that the manual doesnt mention : i right-click a segment of music and select effects and it gets added. what is the disadvantage of this? is it just that the wav is permantly changed?

thanks for your help in advance.. probably crappy question i know..

Insert effects (1) require an instance for each track they're used on, and (2) are applied 100% to the signal, unless there's a balance fader.

Send effects (2) only require a single instance per effect, and (2) are applied in a percentage determined by the send fader. Everything you send there will have the same setting, just different balances.
