Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum although I've been using Cubase Essentials 4 for about 5 years and getting decent results. Probably using about 1% of the functionality! And probably not doing things right or efficiently! But we've got some good sounds from it. I'm strictly amateur, and to me a bus is something I take to the shops, which gives you some idea of my skill level. Anyway, in the last few weeks I have hit a problem and would be grateful for your help. My guess is the answer is incredibly simple.
Problem: When I start a new project and import an audio track, it is totally silent. If I import the same track into an older project, it works fine and I can hear the new track perfectly. So my guess is that somewhere in the software, about 2 months ago, I must have inadvertently probably switched some default setting off/on, and that I need to switch it back. But I have absolutely no idea what I did! (It's not the M/S settings on the track). All suggestions gratefully received! Many thanks.
