Hello all, this is my first post on this forums after stumbling across in my quest for good audio.
I recently installed Cubase and it worked fine. Then after a few days everytime I started it up, it would just load upto the point where you see the windows and buttons and stuff, and freeze the whole computer (Windows xp pro) right there.
I tried the usual, uninstalling, reinstalling, drivers, even system restore with no success. I even tried installing Cakewalk Sonar, it gave an error saying my sound card was either inaccessible or does not support the audio format.
I'm guessing this is the reason cubase is freezing too, but after tweaking all kinds of settings (sample rate, etc) I can't get any results. I know its possible because Cubase used to work before.
Does anyone have this problem? How do I check if something really is using my soundcard? (I have a SIS 7012 Integrated soundcard, not the best but my needs are that professional either).
All other sound needs are working fine, I can play audio files (and hear them), I can even record sound in other software such as soundforge, Jesusonic, etc.
Thanks you for reading.
