Hi,

Up until now I've only recorded jazz instrumentals and I don't sing, so your opinion on the vocal chain would be greatly appreciated.

I used a U87 on Vox to a Dav preamp and used the internal processing of the 32xd for mixing and comp-eq-effects.

Need some input on the vocal compression eq and effects, please.

This is someone I work with in our Worship team at church.

Thanks for the feedback.

The mike has a very clear sound but at part her voice sounds pretty nasally. Not sure if this is due to the microphone or her natural voice. There is definitely some problems with sibilance. Good singer, can fix the pitch with a few more careful takes. The mike sounds good. The reverb sounds nice but sometimes the reverb tail seems to go on a little longer than I would expect. Not familiar with the 32XD but you should be able to capture the voice well with that vocal chain and I think it did sound pretty good. Some sibilance and nasally on some passages. Maybe a little eq could be applied to get rid of the nasally sound? but I'm not sure where. The reverb thing might be desired as I'm not too familiar with what you're going for. Overall good job. Way better than what I can record! :)

sounds like there is too much high and mids..or maybe just add a tad of low end..but then i am listening in computer speakers..
