Creating loops in Cubase?

Hi -- just started using Cubase LE and I want to create a loop from a marimba performance I recorded. I can't find an easy and precise way of doing it though. In Acid it's easy (or maybe I'm just used to the program) -- you merely highlight a range in the file, set it to loop, and listen to see if it's the loop you want. In Cubase I can't figure it out -- I can highlight a range, but I can't loop it. If I highlight a range and "split" it to a new track, I am not able to make fine tuning adjustments at the beginning and end of the clip. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Keith

Search the help files for "Hitpoints". You should then be able to locate and copy the parts you want to loop.

In the track view, I adjust the clip start and end points to where I want the start and end points to be. I then hoover my pointer over the right handle, hold the alt key, then click and drag for the number of repeats I want. Not the same as Sonar/Acid, but as long as you don't change key or tempo, you should be OK.

loops

Hi .... yeh ive been using acid for a while too, and have move on to cubase sx. I find it easyer to loop things in Acidpro too, this must be because it is a loop base program. :)

An easy way to copy a loop throughout a project is to just select the loop , click the edit menu and choose repeat...
the repeat events dialog box opens
select the number of times that you want the loop to be repeted
