I wasn't sure where to post this, sorry.

I know there are plugin's to reomove vocals from a song, I was just wondering if there are any plugin's to remove the music and get a vocal only track. Does anybody know? Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Distilling vocals from a music+vocals mix is not a simple thing to do; I'm not aware of any plugins. It often, maybe even usually, cannot be done, but sometimes it can. I ran across this post recently that describes a process for how to attempt it:

 Yo Nick:

Alesis has a new box that is "supposed" to remove vocals from a CD, thus leaving you with the music to use one way or another. BUT, as I read the small print, it isn't a guarantee--depends on how the CD was manufactured.

The unit is called: Alesis Playmate Vocalist: CD player, vocal reducer, Mic processor. You can check out the unit on the net. Does quite a few things.

Green Hornet :D

analogX has one, it works sometimes, but all it does is the phase inversion method. the plugin is on the site here -http://www.analogx.com/

OK, I'm probably hijacking this thread, but why would you want to do this?

you can do it using audacity (free software)... look at the technique on their website and do the reverse of it (with left and right stereo channels). it doesn't work on all songs, depending on how they were mixed, but a lot it does.
