Alright sorry for the question that is probably easy to most of you but here we go. I found this mixer that i thought was interesting:
http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.co...-Mixer-with-Mic-and-Speaker-Cables?sku=630356

I'm wondering if that will allow 4 mxl 990 mics attached to it, 4 headphones and will it have enough power to run all of them. Also How would I go about connecting this to the computer and probably attaching a compressor to this?
Thanks in advance for the help.

No, this is not what you want. That is basically a little PA system. If you want to record you need an audio interface with at least 4 mic inputs and USB (or Firewire) output to the computer. A separate headphone amplifier box will take care of the 4-headphone need, it will connect through the interface's headphone output or lineout.

mjb is spot-on, but that's not a bad little rehearsal PA. Even having no speakers can be a plus- getting a pair of 10 or 12 inch speakers seems to be easy as pie, this allows you to buy only what you (presumably) need. The "record outs" will allow you to record to a cassette or computer sound card- you won't get particularly good sound quality, and will only be able to record to two channels, but hey, we mix our 96 tracks down to two channels, anyway! I'm not sure why it has delay instead of reverb- perhaps delay can do a reasonable imitation of reverb. The ad copy is a bit over the top about the EQ- really, treble and bass will NOT give you "maximum control over your mix," and I wouldn't call it "super musical" (whatever that means!) but it will help. The mic shurely is not the best (pun intended,) but it works.

If you can use a little PA, and have a pair of speakers that can handle 100 watts, I'd nab it. I'd go with the 2-year coverage for a ten-spot, too- these things are not the most reliable, and get flung around a lot, and thus I'd be surprised if it lasted two years.

Thanks for the reply! Well what audio interface brand would you suggest because I have about 150 to spend on this audio interface and so far I am not seeing any of them with 4 mic inputs.

Oh yea I forgot to tell you the reason for this setup. My friends and I are mainly an acappella group of 4 and we are trying to record songs with a blue Snowball. Everytime we record the microphone just explodes and it isn't able to record all of our voices with clarity. So would just 2 mxl990 mics be fine? Thanks again for all the help already.

Interfaces seem to jump from 2 to 8 inputs. There may be a few in your range. I've posted links to the Tascam US1641 which is under 220 on Amazon right now, guessing that won't last long. There you get 8 XLR inputs, hey allows for upgrading in the future.

What do you guys think about this mixer with 4 MXl 990 mics connected to it? Also how would i go about connecting this to a computer and how could I connect a compressor to this?

Thanks again.

I have two of those. It's not a bad little mixer. I've never used the mic preamps, so I can't advise you there. You can connect the compressor to the aux send and use one of the pairs of stereo inputs for the return. It doesn't have a dedicated aux return, so take care not to send the channels you use as the return back into the compressor. You'll need to run the mixer into an audio card in your computer.

Thanks for your input. Where are you getting your power from then?

The mixer has a power supply. It has a 48V phantom power switch for mics that need it.

Would this be a good build? Is there any wires I have to buy that doesn't come with this? Thanks a lot! Is there a way i can rep you or something?

I don't know anything about the compressor or mics. You'll need mic cables, phone cables, and an audio card for your PC if you don't have one.

Where did you post that?
