Great tune. A real inspiriation too. Maybe I won't sell my NT1's !

I think the days of the commercial music industry are numbered with homegrown songs of this quality.

I know I'm only a newbie but I'm really interested in collaborating too. It would be kinda cool to have an international collaboration - I don't really have bandwidth to burn though - do you think posting a CD to Australia is an option ? too slow ?

:D :D :D :D :D

I've never done international mail but I'd be willing to give it a shot. We could also do it via Mp3 files and those are easy to trade back and forth. But if you want to use cds so we have the very best quality I'm ready for that too. PM me and we'll talk about it or there's an e-mail button on my profile.

Also there's a thread titled Collaboration Forum!!! that discusses the various ways we might do this. You might want to check that out.

Don't give up Village.
Time, practice and patience.

Keep at it. Ya sissy.

Village--you crack me up! And, believe me--I have times when I can't make anything work the way I want. Point is to keep at it and try new things. I consider my learning to be constant and I never feel like I have arrived at the peak of engineering bliss. Most of the time I feel like a wannabe who gets lucky from time to time. I do have one rule that seems to pan out: the better the performance and the better the source sounds, the easier it is to get a good sounding recording. At least it seems that way.

it not only seems that way...it is the friggin truth.

on a side note, when I was wandering around the halls of Berklee, in the mid 70's, you would see gobs of awesome players, some only playing a couple years max to their credit. The dropout rate was incredible, because people thought that there was no way that they could become the next Joe Pass...or whoever. so...they just gave up. (not to mention the people who WERE good enough and just went on "tour"....or out gigging...) I lived with a teacher at the time...easily as good as a "chick corea" imo....but he eventually just quit music.. He was "aware" of how far musically you could really go[I suppose], saw his limitations, so he just quit. I stood on the edge of the cliff, easily seeing the reasons to jump off and quit too.....but....ah...the mighty first position A power chord thru many, many Marshalls kept me sane... Mine sounded like no one elses.... So...I've played that ONE chord my whole life...and it keeps me happy;) ...not that it sounds good to anyone else...but I like it

Great tune, performances and arrangement. The vocals and sax sound awesome.

I have to say that the backing tracks sound a bit thin and distant in comparison. They really have that typical DAW mix sound.

Great tune overall though.
