Relax!

But don't lose the "attitude". ;)

It's interesting that Sam would mention Mustaine because that's the thing that makes him so cool as a vocalist. Paul Di'anno had lot's of that and that's one of the things that made early Maiden cool as well.

Yeah. That makes them "demons to some, angels to others" :D
What I mean, is some people REALLY hate Mustaine's voice, but I dig it. I like variety in vocals anyway, so I can take usually anything in that department. I guess all it takes is getting used to.

crankster...I rushed here to listen and comment, but only got the listen part down the first time.
so...I'd have to agree with the previous comments for the most part. For a 'first' time submitting a vocal track, it's there bud... Ya aint gonna be a superstar on your first track, but this definately a reason to keep on crankin'. I thought the rendition was pretty much there, and if I heard it in a bar or something, I wouldn't be disapointed. Sure, you can get exact on some stuff, but I kinda feel like it isn't really the objective sometimes...however this is pretty close. I feel the mix has an 'older' sound to it...like a good 70's-80's recording. It has the ingredients, but is kinda a dry mix in many aspects....but understand the limits in keeping to a "cover tune" also. I hear a Finnish accent all the way thru, if you ask me!! and that's not good, bad...neither. Just different. adds 'originality' to it all.

another hurdle overcome....congrats!!!

All is great but...you need to sing more.it should come from deep in your gut.try standing in front of the mic with your legs apart a little, let your voice come from all the way down in your balls(I hope I don't sound too gay)and really push it out,it will help you stay in key better, too.not being mic shy will cover up any vocal funkyness.excellent choice for a cover dude!!!your guitar work is top notch but practice your vocals in the shower, the car,i mean annoy the shit out of everyone with it,just keep streaching those cords and stay away from dairy before you sing, you sound like you might have a good "death" metal voice.maybe try a heavy song with some growly, glass gargling mayhem or just do what b.sab does...drown it in FX

your damn straight! :D

I have to say that this is pretty damn good overall. I do agree that you need to let loose with the vocals; D'ianno really lets rip when he sings, and loves his screams.

Who is playing the instruments? It's incredibly close to the real thing!

Cranky, I like you better than Maiden...keep singing, this is a very good effort. Playing is topnotch, mix is pretty damn good to my ears.

Mark

I thought the vocals sounded really good!
You have a fine voice my friend.

I really liked the guitars, just great!
Nice big sounding mix.

I enjoyed it very much.

Best to you,
Pete

The Cranky One thread is revived!

Glad to see a few more people got to hear this..

I'm not familiar with this or any Maiden for that matter so I have no opinions on how well it sounds like the original. But I like the tune and your singing is pretty good for a first time. There's certainly work to be done on it as you would expect but your voice shows promise and I think it'll just take some practice and work to get it there. BTW....I thought the bass sounded pretty good for not being a bass.

Hey guys. Thanks for listening to this old one. :D I'm sorry if I haven't been here much lately. My school started, so I'll really have to dig up the time to do reviews and songs. I'll try, though.
