I'll try to start this thing out. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. I want to know your favorite cool edit/audition trick is. maybe someone knows something all of us don't so don't be shy no tip is too stupid... as long as it's a cool edit tip.

my tip: F10 is the hotkey for the input monitor... I use that one every time.

not exactly obscure but you get the idea

I hit F10 when a track was armed to record, and it called up the recording level meter. Is that it?

yup, it lets you monitor what you are going to record while you are not recording.

I recommend editing your favourite effects list.
There you can find Fade in/out and few more.
I removed those I rarely used and I added some others which I use often. (I’m talking about destructive editing)
You can name it, assign a short cut key etc.
I use “delete” a lot. For example on vocal files:
I highlight area in between two verses and delete everything that microphone picked up
while I was waiting to sing next part. This is not NR! I don’t touch areas where I actually sing.
That’s different story.

Someone would say: "But I have “delete key” on my keyboard".
That’s not the same.
If you highlight area and hit DELETE on your keyboard whole area is being cut out and in that case you are getting timing problems.

I personally use rubber bands for all of my volume. I don't think I could go without them.
