just wondering what the best way would be to connect a set of dynaudio bm5a studio monitors which only have xlr inputs to an audio interface that only has trs outputs.

thanks

I know this might sound like a bit of a smart-arse answer, but maybe with a pair of TRS->XLR cables? :p You'll still maintain a balanced connection.

Both are Balanced connectors.
There are numerous manufacturers of cables with an XLR on one end and a TRS on the other.

For my place I made my own since I was having to make wire harnesses for everything. I had some cable and connectors and wired it up myself.

man i feel like a retard..................Im glad you guys know what your talking about!!!!! lol. I've never heard of this type of cable before.

thanks for the responses.

I wasn't sure whether a trs/xlr cable would degrade the signal quality or not..

The other option I guess would be to use a mixer but then its just one more link in the chain.
cheers

Nope, shouldn't degrade it one bit :)
Have fun! Those Dynaudios are nice monitors.
