Hello everybody!
Newbie comming!!

I have a 880ex and a Fostex 280 (4 analog tape multitracker).
So, if I connect both (880 as Master, 280 as slave) I would have 12 tracks homestudio.
I would like to know if there is any way to do that. Roland has midi and the Fostex has a Serial Port / Model MTC-1.
Can I sincronize both machines via MIDI?
Do I need some "external sincronizer machine"?

Thanks

Hi, I´ve had 2 Foxtextape X-28 long time ago and they where ok at those days, but really, only miss the sound of an electric guitar recorded on "+++red"! co´s it could be like that on tape,..but now,...if you have a nice digital recorder like a VS why bother with tape hiss and DC noise again?
If you REALLY need more than 8 tracks, why not to use the virtual tracks for that,do some bouncing, and ...on you go...!

For the Sync...I don´t know,...if that MTC goes for TIME CODE you should, but thats it,I dont know...
See ya...

Thank you OrangeGangster.

I want to record vocals on the Fostex. I don't like vocals'sound in Roland. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. But I remember vocals on Fostex sound very good with the same mics I have. I think they sound better on analogic than digital. And if you don't do bouncing there is no much hiss.

Yes,it can be like that ,if you like the sound recorded on tape for the voices and identify with it,go for it...really,I know what you mean...
