Sorry if this has already been answered, but I searched the internet and couldn't find a straight answer.
I've been using dynamic mics for home recording, which was yeilding poor results (mostly because of my lack of a power amp, causing me to up decibel levels 6.0 to 12.0) so my friend, who owns a real recording studio let me borrow his MXL 990 and 994? condenser microphones since he had no need for them anymore. I'm getting no signal from them and am assuming I need a power amp for them to pick up sound?
I just want to make sure this is the problem because I'm thinking of purchasing the pair for CHEAP and want to make sure all I'm going to need is a power amp for them to run.
Thanks in advance.
