Hi i'm wondering what condenser mic that i should buy for overheads and would be nice to double up as vocal mic but thats not too much of a worry.

ECM8000 seems to have good reviews for such a cheap mic. Are they actually good for a nice overhead mic? I am also looking at the AKG Perception 200 which is about double the price but can double up as vocals. is the AKG a nice overhead or more a vocal mic? MXL V63M is also another option.

Also have you got any other tips on condenser overhead mics around the $150 - $300 a pair.

Thankyou :)

CAD M179. The M177 would work in a pinch, but you'll appreciate the multipattern nature of the M179 on more sources. They have a very good bass response and a fairly natural sounding top end. The Naiant mics mentioned in the other thread are great for overheads and usable for most things, as they have a virtually flat response curve, but I don't often use omnis for vocals.
