So... Finally getting close enough to upgrade my aging AMD Athlong XP 2100+ machine.

This is what I've ordered so far:

Biostar TForce550 (one of the very few MoBos with nVidia chipset that has 4 PCI slots... needed to fit my Audio interface, UAD-1, etc.)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+
4GB of RAM (OCZ with 4-4-4-12 timing)
ASUS GeForce 8600GT video card (2 DVI outputs, and more importantly, fanless!)
Zalman CNPS9700 CPU Fan (finally I'll have a quiet computer!)
1 x 160GB system drive (Seagate Barracuda)
2 x 260GB drives to be divided between sample and project drives (Seagate Barracuda).

Will be keeping my old case and most likely my power supply.

Still looking at a DVD-burner (the CDR in my comp died, and been using an external one. If that one also works to load the OS and such, then I won't even bother with an internal one), a couple of external USB cases to house my current ATA HDs, and probably a fan controller.

Will be keeping at Windoze XP for quite some time though as I've got an Aardvark Q10, which means no Vista drivers for it eva!

Can't wait untill all this stuff is delivered so I can build my new system!

I am excited.

Woohoo!

Close to $1,000... Bought the MoBo and the drives last month. Ordered the rest today. Wanted to make sure to get the MoBo as it's becoming increasingly difficult to get motherboards with enough PCI slots and I don't need the expense of replacing other things just to make the compatible with PCIe.

Still a good deal considering if I buy pre-built with similar specs it's gonna cost 2.5x that :)
